Business Students Add Corporate Win to their Resumes
November 27, 2018
Brendan Wiley of the University of Texas at Dallas, and Meir Cohen of Bar-Ilan University, have a new credential to inspire recruiters: they can show they’ve piloted a multi-million dollar company to market dominance in a competitive international industry.
Brendan and Meir won the international business simulation competition The 2018 Capsim Fall Challenge in November. Along with ten other finalists they triumphed over hundreds of students from universities around the world, competing in the final weekend battle for supremacy. Each of the finalists demonstrated their ability to apply the business theory they’ve studied at university in a practical situation.
President of Capsim Reda Chafai said just competing in the Capsim Challenge was testament to a student’s commitment to understanding business. “The Capsim Challenge comes at the most hectic time of the semester,” he said. “Students who take time out to challenge themselves in this international tournament during the assessment period show a clear enthusiasm for business.”
With Capsim simulations taught in more than 900 business schools worldwide, the biannual Challenge attracts students from India, Europe, Australia, Africa and throughout the Americas.
